How does one prepare for and build a career in Vocal Performance? In its first public recital in the new era of virtual performance, Sonoma State University’s voice program presents Audition Book, a performance that features songs and arias tailor-made for the singers who will bring them to life. Whether they are preparing to take the stage as vivid characters in operas, dazzle as triple threats in Broadway musicals, write and perform their own original songs, or teach children and youth the ins and outs of vocal music in a school setting, SSU’s stellar vocalists will show you their paths to a life in song. You’ll hear from the singers about their process, their aspirations, and the incredible labor of love that goes into each performance. Audition Book will give the audience a peek into the early lives and work of the pioneering next generation of vocal artists.
