Bay Area Vocal Academy kicks off its public concert season with two sparkling holiday performances. The BAVA Artists will perform selections and scenes from opera, musical theater, art song, and of course, holiday favorites. The music will be staged into a seamless, festive, flow, BAVA-style. The young artists' voices will thrill and inspire you, and fill you with holiday cheer!
2019 Senior Recital

Our seniors have been accepted to some of the top universities and conservatories in North America, and we want to celebrate their hard work and achievement! Joined by Rhoslyn Jones, Heidi Melton, Justin Montigne, and pianist Daniel Lockert, our seniors will perform an afternoon of songs and scenes. This special fundraiser’s proceeds will go to startup costs furnishing BAVA’s home, buying music stands, pianos, decorations, seating, appliances, and other essentials. Please come and support this giant effort, and wish the seniors well as they depart to launch their starry careers.
If you are interested in donating furnishings, decorations, labor, or other assistance in support of BAVA’s move, please write to sing@bayareavocalacademy.org. If you are unable to attend the recital and would like to donate, see left. Thank you!

All the BAVA Artists will be featured in two double cast, fully staged performances. BAVA on Broadway

BAVA conquers the stage in a new way in this program of musical theater scenes that showcases its artists' talent and dramatic commitment. Songs and scenes from Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, The Secret Garden, Mary Poppins, Titanic, Company, and more will capture audiences' hearts and transport them straight to the world of Broadway.

Bay Area Vocal Academy ends its season with an original retelling of the Cinderella story, full of intrigue, romance, humor, and fairytale magic. You'll hear from all the characters you know from the classic story as they sing music by Massenet, Rossini, Brahms, Viardot, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Goldrich & Heisler, and Stephen Sondheim. Opera, art song, and musical theater sung by the great voices of tomorrow weave a powerful tale!

Bay Area Vocal Academy kicks off its public concert season with two sparkling holiday performances. The BAVA Artists will perform selections and scenes from Handel’s Messiah, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, and more. These talented vocalists—many of whom are headed off to study music at universities or conservatories next year—have spent the fall building stage presence, acting skills, vocal power, and the confidence of seasoned classical recitalists and opera singers. Their voices will thrill and inspire you, and fill you with holiday cheer!

BAVA presents two evenings of a double-bill concert of Handel's "Alcina" and "Say It with Music," an Irving Berlin Revue. All BAVA Artists are cast in both halves of the concert, showcasing their growth over the training year, and performing to the max in opera and musical theater. The concert weaves tales of magic, betrayal, love, patriotism, and comedy into an unforgettable and entertaining whole. Join us for this not-to-be-missed season finale!
Love Song Matinée

BAVA and Heidi Melton in Concert

Bay Area Vocal Academy is proud to open its season with a concert featuring international soprano Heidi Melton. Described as the 'the Wagnerian voice we have been waiting for,' Ms. Melton will perform with BAVA Artists in scenes from Sweeney Todd, Albert Herring, and more. Hear talented high schoolers headed for careers in vocal music perform solos, duets, and scenes from opera and musical theater--all semi-staged. The beautifully renovated jewel of a sanctuary at BART and MUNI accessible Noe Valley Ministry will be BAVA's warmly resonant home for much of its first concert season. Come and hear Heidi Melton in her only planned Bay Area performance this season, and support BAVA's innovative mission to inspire future artists as they share the stage with international stars!
